Get rid of cystic acne

are you wondering how to get rid of cystic acne? Are you tired of cysts, spots or blackheads? I was and I would like to share with you how I got rid of cystic acne.

I  have had pimples and blackheads for many years. My pores clog fast and also I have baby hairs on my face which contribute to the problem. Like many of you  I have this silly habit of touching the face, for example I sit in a class room, I listen to the teacher and at the same time I manipulate around my forehead, cheeks, etc. Sure, I try to remember not to do that but sometimes I forget. No wonder I have spots and blackheads. However blackheads and minor spots were nothing comparing to what was about to come. After some hormonal changes I started developed an awful cystic acne. They were huge, deep under the skin, they were painful and no matter if I would squeeze them or not  they would leave the scars. Of course the scar would be bigger after the squeezing. I remember one time I had had this kind of cyst on the side of my chin. I didn't want to pop it but it was sitting there for about three weeks, really getting on my nerve so... I started manipulating there and all this left me with an ugly, atrophic scar which was basically a hole in the skin because the fatty tissue had been damaged. I was devastated. I had even a laser treatment to improve the appearance of the scar. But at that point I knew I had to do something about it. I started analyzing what kind of changes I had to make to get rid of the problem for good. Here is what I have tried:
Diet. Diet changes did not improve the look of my skin.
For a couple of weeks I was eating mainly vegetarian food: a lot of vegetables, bread, fruits, etc. I would drink a lot of freshly squeezed fruit juices but I have not observed any significant changes:(. I mean maybe there were some small changes, like brighter skin but that was not enough for me. Instead I noticed that acids from the fruits had negative influence on my teeth so in the end I ditched this diet. Later on for about a month I was on a low carb diet. I stopped eating bread, pasta, sweets, etc. No changes in the look of my skin but instead I got rid off cellulite. It was a big shock because I didn't even expect that this could happen. This happened already after about two weeks of being on a low carb diet. Wow, that was a big pleasant surprise. But everything got back to normal (as it was  before) after I started eating sugar again.
Conclusion: cutting on sugar or eliminating sugar from the diet is very good for you (everyone knows that, hehe). It means no pizza, chocolate, etc. but it also means be careful with fruits as they contain fructose. I would say eat fruits but in moderation.
Clean pillow case: I have heard that it should be changed every couple of days. Did thuís help? I cannot tell because I would always change the bed sheets often. But maybe it was not often enough? Maybe I should have changed it every day? This I haven't tried.
Ointments and other potions: Over the years I have tried so many of them. I have been using ready made gels, mask and pure natural things, like for example castor oil or clay. Some of the things work better some of them don't work at all.  But nothing I have tried would stop my skin from forming the cysts.
But I can tell you what has the best antibacterial properties and speeds up the skin's healing process: for me  manuka honey worked wonders. It is a great natural antibiotic and it will help you with any nasty changes. It even helps where traditional antibiotics fail, ointments with chamomile and lavender speed up the healing process. The castor oil is very good and if you apply it on the pimple several times a day it won't form the scar

Surprisingly  aloe vera and ointments/gels with tea tree oil don't work for me at all.

How I got rid of cystic acne

Skin cleansing routine: The proper skin cleansing routine has changed the look of my skin completely has helped me with acne. I started cleaning the skin very carefully. I started  being good for my skin, I started using only gentle products. I stopped using cleansing gels for oily/combination skin because they only exaggerate the problem. They strip the skin of its natural protective oils and the skin start producing even more sebum. For the cleansing I use micellar water (in my opinion the best is Bioderma) or I just use my own mixture of castor and flax seed oil. Yeah, don't be shocked. I use oils for the oily skin:). If I wear makeup I first use the oil mixture and then micellar water or a gentle facial toner or rose water. In the mornings I only use toner or micellar water, just to refresh the skin. This cleansing routine has change my life. It has improved my skin's look by 80%. Sure I get the pimples sometimes and I still have blackheads but they are just superficial and heal within one, two days. I don't have any cystic acne anymore since I have made those changes.
I really hope that this will help you. If you have any questions pleas leave me a comment or send an email.
